About OVCA

Welcome to the Osgoode Village Community Association.

We are the Osgoode Village Community Association, your non-profit, volunteer-based organization devoted to making Osgoode Village an even better place to live.

We’ve been in existence since 1989 (formerly and originally founded as the Osgoode Business Association). We have been fully functioning under the Osgoode Village Community Association (OVCA) since 2004.

WHAT DO WE DO?

WE MEET ON THE 1st MONDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 7:00 PM (September – June)
MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO ALL OSGOODE RESIDENTS. Currently, we meet in the Fred A Alexander room of the Osgoode Community Centre, 5660 Osgoode Main Street.

Next meeting Monday August 14 – 6:30 pm

Please contact OVCA at info@osgoodevillage.com  for any reason from community events to safety concerns in the village.

We address City of Ottawa concerns on a monthly basis with our Councillor and other surrounding, rural Community Association Presidents.

Our Annual General Meeting is held each January. An announcement is included in the quarterly newsletter prior to the meeting, and the date and time are posted on this website.

We have completed and/or have been working on the following projects:

  • Publication of ‘The Osgoode Village Story‘, a 120-page book reviewing the village’s history and important events;
  • The Medieval Festival (first weekend after Canada Day each July);
  • Beautification, including Canada banners on Osgoode Main Street and ‘cleanup days’ every spring and fall in partnership with Osgoode Youth Association members;
  • Responsibility for the always-popular Canada Day Committee festivities including the parade, entertainment, games and fireworks;
  • BMX Park
  • ‘Community BBQ’ in August;
  • ‘Movie in the Park’ in August;
  • ‘Christmas in the Village’ in December, complete with parade, Breakfast with Santa and Craft Fair;
  • Hosting of www.osgoodevillage.com (this website);
  • Quarterly newsletter – Osgoode Village Newsletter;
  • Representation on the Multi-Use Pathway Committee; and
  • More to come!

Of course, there are always things happening in our village brought to you by our other hardworking volunteer organizations, including our church groups, service clubs, youth association and our theatre group.

Please send us news and information from your organization to help us advertise your activities on our website and to allow us to help coordinate the timing of all events. Your events should be sent to cheriovca@gmail.com.

Please register on this site if you wish to receive updates between our newsletters.
