Objectives and Guidelines
Our program focuses on four important developmental domains.
These are Social, Emotional, Physical, and Language Development. This is done through many tasks and activities. Since young children learn best through play, the Nursery School classroom is made up of different learning centres and play areas - unit blocks, gross motor play (large muscle), puzzles and cognitive toys, dramatic play area, quiet reading area, sensory area (sand & water tables) and a craft area. The children are encouraged to explore and experience each activity (crafts, games and creative play), tidy up time with the children's participation, washroom routine, snack, circle time (music and stories) and outdoor play when possible. This form of structure helps to prepare children for Kindergarten. They learn to work and move as a group from one area to another. It helps to increase a child's attention span and keep their focus on the task at hand.
