Our Health Care Team

Cheryl A. Cooper PT, BScPT, is a registered physiotherapist who received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1993. Cheryl worked at Carleton University’s Sports Therapy Clinic prior to opening Cooper Physiotherapy in October 1996. A sixth generation native of Metcalfe, Cheryl lives with her husband Hugh McEwen and daughter Kate on Heather Crest Dairy Farm. Cheryl was a Nominee for the National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA 2005 Women of Distinction Awards in the Community Entrepreneurial Spirit Category.

Teri L. Rowan PT, BScPT is a registered physiotherapist who received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 1993. She grew up in the small south-western Ontario town of Ayr. Upon graduation she worked initially in London at St Joseph's Health Center, then transferred with her husband to Stittsville, working at Motion Works Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic. Now a mother of two, Teri has relocated back to the country setting of Manotick Station and joined the team at Cooper Physiotherapy in February 2005.

Lianne Davis PT, BScPT, is a registered physiotherapist who received her degree from University of Manitoba. She enjoys ringette and soccer and lives close by in Manotick.

Lisa Fisher, Registered Massage Therapist, is a native of Edwards and attended Osgoode Township High School. She received her credentials from Kine Concept Institue in 2005. She primarily utilizes Swedish massage, myofascial and trigger point techniques. A former champion stepdancer and horsewoman Lisa and her partner Kevin are busy building a new home outside of Winchester.

Amanda Cooper, Office Manager, was initially a patient, then married Cheryl’s brother and came to work for us in 2006. Amanda is the Coach Coordinator for the Metcalfe Skating Club.

Debbie Churchill, Physiotherapy Aide, a native of Perth, lives with her husband John and five children in Osgoode. She joined our staff in 2007.

Massage Therapy: Therapeutic, relaxation, gift certificates, lymphatic drainage, postpartum, stress release
Custom Orthotics:  Plaster cast molds are taken by the physiotherapist and sent to Ottawa Orthotic Lab for fabrication
  Sports Braces for tennis elbow, knee O/A, tendonitis ; Custom braces can be arranged through PG Ortho or Kinemedics

What is Physiotherapy?
 

A form of healthcare that prevents, identifies, corrects and alleviates acute or prolonged movement dysfunction. Your first visit will include an assessment of your injury, determination of goals and treatment which may include: exercise, manual therapy, and modalities (IFC, TENS, EMS, laser). Education regarding your condition and its’ prevention is a key aspect of care.

What insurance plans will cover Cooper Physiotherapy Clinic's Services?
  Most Extended Health Care plans (80% - 100%)
  Direct billing to motor vehicle collision insurance (MVC), WSIB, RCMP, DND, Veterans’ Affairs
  Physiotherapists are primary care practitioners and do not require a doctor’s referral; however your insurance may require.

How much will treatment at Cooper Physiotherapy Clinic cost?
Physiotherapy: Initial Assessment & Treatment - $70
  Physiotherapy Treatment - $45
  Secondary Assessment - $50
  Fitness Assessment - $50
  Custom Orthotics - $400 one pair $550 two pairs
Massage: One Hour - $70 (including GST)
Massage: Half Hour - $45 (including GST)
